Getting started
Choose where your model runs.
Cloud models
You do not need a dedicated GPU to use a cloud model. You need an internet connection and access to a supported provider. The provider may charge for usage.
Thomas still runs locally to provide its interface and computer tools. Choosing a cloud model does not move your entire computer into the cloud.
Local models
Local models are optional. Memory, storage, and GPU needs depend on the model you choose; they are not a minimum requirement for cloud use.
Make your first connection
Open Settings, then Models & Providers. Configure the provider you intend to use and select an available model. Send a short message to confirm the connection before adding more tools.
